Fenceline, 10/25/2022.
Weather was cool and dry.
PAX: Pity the Fool (respect), DQ, Amicus, Jayhawk, Flight Attendent, Birds Nest, Butt Fumble, Viagara (respect), Bohdi, Gilligan, Blowout (Q, YHC)
The EC runners returned, 5:30 AM was seen on a watch, slogan recited and aye’d, dire warnings were issued, and the ruckers rucked away. The cinderblocks (27-30 lbs) and smaller weights (20 lb kettlebell, 15 lb dumbbells, 5-7 lb bricks, Pity’s junior cinderblock) were introduced.
Warmup: Side Shuttle Hops, String Rippers, Copperhead Squats, Abe Vigodas, Sun Gods, Cinderblock Halos (it’s a kettlebell exercise, if you want to Google it)
The Thang:
Three exercises, 1 minute each, three rounds. And three sets of that. 30 second rest while the Q tried to introduce the next set of exercises.
Set 1: Cinderblock Squat. Bicep Curl. Variations on Bent Over Rows.
Set 2: Clean, Overhead Press, Tricep Curl. Kettlebell Swing. Ball Hops (this was not popular, and heavily modified).
Set 3: Block Burpee. Offset Merkin (one hand on brick, one hand on ground, switch occasionally). Stationary Lunge while a couple of PAX did a two-block farmer’s carry around the circle, passing the extra block to next PAX. Doing burpees and merkins in the same set was regrettable.
Playlist was a collection of covers by punk bands: Free Fallin’ by The Almost; Manic Monday by Relient K; Country Roads, I Will Survive, Karma Chameleon, Sloop John B, Jolene, Sunday Morning Coming Down, Goodbye Earl by Me First and the Gimme Gimmes. Ended with The Final Countdown by Furillo.
Cool Down: Time was running short at 6:06 AM, so the Freddy Mercuries and Box Cutters were scratched. 10 American Hammers IC, with some PAX doing them with some weight.
Announcements: Fringe vs Funk on 11/11, Bubba Fett on 12/3.
YHC prayed us out.
