11-23-21
Chilly evening at the Plate, excited to have Michelin Man Qing the w/o.
We meet 5:45 PM at Leonard Recreation Center, 6324 Ballinger Rd, Greensboro, NC 27410- its a great location, plenty of room, and due to the bridge being out on Ballinger, we got the place to ourselves.
PAX: Mr Hand, Short Bus, Sparkle, Water Boy, Apollo, Schnitzel, Fat Tire, Kilowatt, Imelda, Windmill, Expired, Dr Sheldon, Saban, and Michelin Man on the Q. Everyone was in a great holiday mood!
“Masaki” aka Michelin Man is nearing the end of his 4 year “over seas” assignment with his company based in Japan. He will be returning home December 25. We are fortunate he found F3 and helped lead us to being better. If you get a chance to speak with him, let him know how much we appreciate his company. I do not know about you, but I think it would be a very brave undertaking to sign up for duty in another country.
Pax were assembling, disclaimer was read, and we went right to Radio Exercise:
Radio calisthenics are warm-up calisthenics performed to music and guidance from radio broadcasts. They are popular in Japan and parts of China, North Korea and Taiwan.
If you get a chance, try these, they are excellent for waking up the body, and let’s face it, SSH is getting old.
After Radio Exercise, a Robust Warm-A-Rama then a short mosey to the Thang:
In the lighted field, 3 cones were set up, and they had lights! Pax broke into 3 groups. Each cone had 4 exercises with 15 reps each. Pax completes all at the station and rotates with a run.
Station 1
Merkins, Plank Jacks, LBC’s, Dying Cockroaches
Station 2
Werkins, Crab Cakes, Mt Climbers, Pickle Pushers
Station 3
Diamond Merkins, WW1 Situps, Shoulder Taps, Crunchy Frogs
Very effective workout!
Osaki was called and off to the parking lot for Mary:
Low Slow Flutters, Hi Dolly’s, Box Cutters, American Hammers.
Announcements were made, we have lots to be thankful for all around. Michelin Man closed out with a great from the heart talk about what F3 means to him, and how we will take F3 back in his heart to Japan.
2f proceded as usual in the parking lot!
