Pax

Boy Wonder RESPECT, One Man Band – awesome to meet you, Patch, Backdraft, Bruce Lee – QiC

We began our morning with an affirmation of the one singular mission of F3:

The Mission of F3 is to plant, grow, and serve small workout groups for men for the invigoration of male community leadership

YHC shared the appropriate disclaimers and then I posed a question to the Pax to consider as a pre-blast to the COT: what is something hard in your life right now? What is something that you are perhaps dreading, putting off, or burdened with? Keep that in your mind as we go about our work together this morning as leading within our community is certainly within and through the hard. With that we set out on a mosey down the campus road adjacent to the tennis courts and circled up at the end of the drive for:

The Warm-A-Rama:

  • Goofballs x 15 IC
  • Merkins x 25
  • Sun Gods x 15 IC, Chinooks x 15 IC, Sun Gods (reverse) x 15 IC
  • Merkins x 20
  • Abe Vigoda x 10 IC
  • String Rippers x 10 IC
  • Merkins x 15
  • Imperial Walkers x 15 IC
  • Merkins x 10
  • Plank Jacks x 15 IC
  • Merkins x 5

With that we were warmed up and the Pax made a quick trip to the adjacent parking lot for:

The Main Thang:

YHC developed this workout for teams of 5 and that is exactly what was provided this morning. YHC explained that each pax would start at one of the 5 stations laid out. The fifth station was a farmers carry with 35lb buckets up to the end of the parking lot and back – once this Pax completed this journey they moved to station 1 which prompted each Pax to move to the next station – the movement always being prompted by the completion of the “Farmers Carrying” Pax. The PAX AMRAPd the exercise on the page, (the first time at the station, the first exercise; the second time at the station, the second exercise, and so on). The stations were:

Station 1:

  • Lt. Dans
  • Monkey Humpers
  • Calf Raises
  • Mary Katherines
  • Al Gore
  • Bonnie Blairs (correction: Apollo Ohno’s – thanks Patch)

Station 2

  • Merkins
  • Carolina Dry Docks
  • Plank Jacks
  • Mountain Climbers
  • Shoulder Taps
  • Werkins

Station 3

  • Side Straddle Hops
  • Turkish Get-Ups
  • Burpee
  • Star Jumps
  • Slalom Ski Jumps
  • Tombstone Burpee

Station 4

  • WWIIs
  • Gas Pumps
  • Low Slow Flutters
  • Freddy Mercury’s
  • Low Dolly
  • Dying Cockroach

This stellar group of men completed all six rounds of work with strong consistent effort given by all! TCLAPS. With that, we enjoyed a well-deserved Giannis (10 count) and began to mosey back towards the shovel flag for a quick:

COT –

Following up on the pre-blast, we took a few minutes to share with one another the ‘hard thing’ that came to mind before we started this work. It was a privilege and honor to share these thoughts with one another this morning and the specific details will remain within the COT. I believe we all learned how to do the hard thing just a little better this morning and are all better off for it!

Announcements –

Backdraft – Coffeteria at Krispy Kreme – free donut with your vaccination card!

YHC took us out with thanks for each man in the circle and reflections based on what was shared by others in the COT.

Moleskin

One Man Band and Backdraft – Kudos to you both for rolling into the AO this morning by alternate transportation – bicycle. One Man Band it was good to meet you this morning and Backdraft lent a real recognizes real reference of you and your positive impact – including things like Off the Chain. Glad to know you both and thankful for your influences

Patch – TClaps for your service and efforts to help provide The Inkwell with an AO shovel flag. We look forward to announcing F3 The Inkwell fully by planting the flag at Smith High School soon. Thanks for your willingness and effort!

Boy Wonder – Boy do we ever wonder what’s going through your mind (appropriate that your namarama move is a thoughtful inquisitive gesture to the mind). You always add depth and substance to any setting that you are in. Thank you for contributing fully – body, spirit, and mind to our community!
