Nancy and I went out for an EC run at 0500. We waited a few minutes to see if any stragglers came in. We did the regular loop which is right around 2.5 miles. It probably has a name. If it doesn’t maybe it should be Yukon Gold. The route looks kind of like Idaho.
Hazmat came running in from somewhere.

YHC was thinking about what to do for the workout this week. I was wracking my brain thinking of old workouts guys have done. At one point I remembered trying to make it out to the Grimsley track. After checking the distance, it looked like that’s the plan.
The guys at the Stampede are trained to stop regularly and pick up the 6. About every half mile we stopped and ran back to bring the guys together. Half way through I let the guys know that these segments weren’t to be sprints. Go at a good pace but don’t kill yourself (allows us to take shorter breaks at the rendezvous points). Everyone was going at a good pace and didn’t seem to be pushing to their breaking point; just thought I’d mention the vision.
When we got back I told the guys it should be about 4 miles. It was about 3.6 miles without any loop backs.
Prior to the 6 coming in, some of the Pax got in the plank position. Maneater started things up with some Merkins. A short while later Pacer led some of the Pax in Merkins. Good stuff.

Great job pairing up today guys. Calling out to the Pax when there’s a car back or car front. Some of the guys up front, love the pace. Guys in the middle and guys in the back, we weren’t waiting long. It was great running with all you guys. Some days, it feels like it should. Feels like we’re part of somethin’.
