Rooster, the Spaniard Gladiator, made a return appearance to the Coliseum at Irving Park for an epic showdown. Along side him, was a worthy comrade returning from the great state of Washington, Twinkie + 18 pax for a total of 20.

As YHC was setting up, and taking longer than the allotted time he afford himself that morning, a couple of strange guys accompanied him on the court. Not to worry, it was just Butt Fumble and J-Love offering a lending hand. In a rush, YHC left his phone on top of the car before driving down to plant the flag. As soon as we break huddle for the mosey, #mumblechatter starts “Where’s the music”… #$%**%$#


Pax moseyed from the shovel flag, down Hamilton, up Sunset all the way to the front of the school. There we did the following along the circle drive.

Basketball court was set up with various stations/walls. YHC had a feeling it was going to draw a big crowd, so the AO was somewhat prepared. Not for a missing phone and no music though, remedy soon to come.

  • Pax followed YHC to the Cornwallis Hill for some line running. Pax lined up single file and back pedaled up the hill, moseyed back down. Rinse and repeat x 3.
  • Pax followed YHC to the Huntington Hill in front of the school. Pax resumed single file and did lateral shuffle up, we Carioca’d down one time until the pax pointed out the ensuing disaster. So we modified into butt kicks. Rinse and repeat x 3.
    • For good measure, we did some burst sprints up the hill, 20 yards. 5 reps

Burpee Ball 

With 20 pax on hand. We split into 2 groups. Spike led one group and YHC had the other. It was interesting to watch the pax shuffle groups as if either would be easier.

  • T-Claps to Gilligan for keeping the boys light on their feet with a little adult humor and some interesting chatter regarding the Woody/Maneater playlist. Neither pax were present to headbang  to Rhinestone Cowboy
  • T-Claps to all pax for continuing the post during not ideal conditions – what’s worse than 5:30. 29º isn’t going to do anything.


  • Blood Drive, Jan 8 led by Butt Fumble. Fill in slots, 47 slots about 25% full right now. Cycles D’ Oro
  • Judy’s Chair has $10,479 and are shopping for chairs right now and will be able to upgrade based on YOUR donations.
  • Christmas story by Bird’s Nest followed this workout at the Search Office. There was a handout with some verses provided. Shoot me a note if you would like a copy.
  • J-love and pax presented Tara at Panera with a Christmas gift card. Many of you know Tara and know what this will mean to her.
  • D-Fib requested prayers for family friends he attended HS and college with. Vicky and her husband lost their 11-year old child in a car accident.
