On a perfect morning 20 PAX including YHC descended upon Jaycee Park ready to push the limits. With disclaimer and welcome dispensed we went right to it:

 

Warm-o-Rama

After a ¾ parking lot-length mosey…

  • 5 burpees OYO
  • SSH x 25
  • Don Quixotes x 15
  • Copperhead squats x 15
  • Shoulder tap merkins x 10
  • Crab Cakes x 15
  • Sun gods x 15, then reverse x 15

 

Mid-term

Partner up.  Everyone lines up on one side of the parking lot (baseline).  While Partner A performs a certain exercise on the baseline, Partner B sprints to the other side of the parking lot (end line) and performs predetermined reps of another exercise, then sprints back to the baseline to relieve the partner.  Partner B then sprints and performs the same exercise at the end line.  Rinse and repeat to complete three different sequences:

  •  LBCs / Merkins x 10
  • Freddy Mercuries / Lunges x 10 each leg
  • Flutter kicks / Carolina Dry Docks x 10

 

Mosey to the baseball field for The Thang… 

The Thang

Using the baseball field as our achievement area, divide the group into 4 even teams.  Each team starts at a base (1st, 2nd, 3rd, and home plate).  Together as a team, perform one and one-half minutes of the designated exercise at each base.  At the conclusion of each exercise sequence, run the bases one complete time before moving on to the next base for one and one-half minutes of a different exercise.  Rinse and repeat.

 

  • First round:  1st base = lunges, 2nd base = air claps, 3rd base = copperhead squats, home plate = merkins
  • Second round:  1st base = Wojo squats, 2nd base = wide merkins, 3rd base = calf raises, home plate = hillbillies

 

At the conclusion of the first round, all gathered in the outfield for some additional partner work, including sprints, bear crawls, and ab work.

At the conclusion of the second round, all gathered in the adjacent parking lot for some lunges and some duck walks.
