10 PAX showed up this morning hungry for pain and to help serve those less fortunate in our community to a hot breakfast. This was my first Q flying solo (did a co-Q with Quicken), so needless to say I got about 4 hours of sleep and had a nightmare that I overslept. However, I was jazzed up because….
I love this time of year. Playoff baseball, football tailgates, cooler weather, and college basketball right around the corner. For my first Q, I wanted to incorporate several of the above (the cooler weather didn’t show up and I nixed bringing a baseball as I didn’t want Amphibious to break a car window).
We started a new tradition with a spin on “Midnight Madness.” We had a fun beat down while incorporating corn hole (still smelled like this weekend’s past tailgate) and a little basketball free throw shooting contest. To start things off we took a little mosey around the church (1 lap) and circled back up for……
WARM-O-RAMA
- 25 SSH
- 15 windmills
- 15 monkey humpers
- 25/25/25 Sun gods (in all directions)
At this point Q could tell the PAX were getting stoked for some games so we ended the WOR early….if only they knew what was coming::
THE THANG:
We split up into 2 groups with group 1 heading over to the adjacent parking lot where a cornhole board (with bags) was set up. Group 2 jogged over to the basketball hoop where one basketball laid in between 6 cinder blocks. In between each station was a “suicide court,” marked off with 5 cones. The rules for each game were simple:
Group 1:
- Each PAX will rotate and take 10 free throws (collectively).
- A miss shot = 20 bicep curls with cinder blocks
- A make shot = 10 Carolina Dry Docks
- Once all 10 shots were taken, group ran a suicide for each shot missed.
- Run 1 lap around church to get to station 2.
Group 2:
- Each PAX will rotate and take 10 tosses (collectively).
- A miss shot (didn’t get in the hole) = 10 burpees (heavy mumblechatter ensued)
- A make shot = 20 squats
- Once all 10 shots were taken, group ran a suicide for each shot missed.
- Run 1 lap around church to get to station 1.
Q learned that Natville Pax are too buff and are not very good shooters. Lots of suicides occurred this morning.
6 MOM:
- 25 LBC
- 15/15 Cindy Crawford’s each side
- 25 Freddie Mercury
- 15 American Hammers
ANNOUNCEMENTS:

- Magic is still looking for Qs for Arise. Dates are open from 11/22 – the end of the year. Contact Magic if you feel ready and able.
Thanks to everybody who came out and let me get a little off-the-wall with our workout.
