28 PAX including YHC took to the grinder for a special convergence.  What occurred was really a “greatest hits” of workouts I have enjoyed at the Grinder over the past 18 months.

Here is what went down:

  • Moroccan Nightclubs

At this point, a familiar motorbike pulled up and Snookie decided to join us.  Apparently, he thought the convergence started at 6:45.  We ran back and picked him up and Native American ran to First Pres.

Thang #1 – Stairway to Merkins

Partner A goes up to the stairs @ First Pres and does 10 merkins, Partner B does the following exercises – then flapjack.  Exercises included:

  • Peter Parkers
  • Chilcutt Planks
  • Double Wide Merkins
  • Mountain Climbers
  • Monkey Humpers
  • Parker Peters
  • Dying Cockroaches
  • Diamond Merkins
  • Calf Raises
  • Carolina Dry Docks

30 minutes in…now to part 2 of the Thang.

Thang #2 – Everest Pyramid

OYO – each guy ran first to Briarcliff and back down, then to Hill and back down and finally to Grayland and back down.  At each street, 10 merkins (Omaha’ed to 5) and 20 squats at the bottom.

Crab Legs/Beaver somehow finished the pyramid in record time.  This was the first time for many at Everest – a gem at the Grinder.

Thang #3 – Partner Merkins

Partner up – 10 Partner Merkins – then run to ~50 yards and do the following:

  • American Hammer X 50
  • Freddy Mercurys x 50 each leg
  • Flutter Kicks X 50 each leg
  • LBCs x 50
  • Low Dollys x 50
  • Crunchy Frogs x 50
  • WW II x 50 (Omahed to 25)
  • Cindy Crawfords x 50 each side
  • Box Cutters x 50

After a little more native american run (with a little extra running for Beaver, Graffiti, Dr. Phil and Crab Legs), we concluded with a little Mary.


  • Homer to Marge
  • Protractor

QIC was gassed at this point, so we called it.

Enjoyed it men – today was the “1 year anniversary” of my first Q a year go.  I always enjoy it.

4.5 Miles – probably somewhere in the 300-350 merkins for everyone.  No burpees though!
