On a warm (but not too warm) August morning 8 fellow Natville/K-Vegas pax defeated the fartsack to come join YHC at Cadet Lab. YHC was pleased with the turnout, especially with the considerable EH to visit one of the other Tuesday workouts in Natville. It went down something like this:
Warmerama
Mosey to the flagpole for the Pledge of Allegiance
Mosey to concession stand
30 seconds of Balls to the Wall (thanks to Botox for not counting too slow)
SSH X 20 IC
Cotton Pickers X 20 IC
Heisenbergs/Windmills X 15 IC
Sun Gods (Dr. Evil Style) X 15 IC
Reverse Sun Gods (Dr. Evil Style) X 15 IC
Appalachian Americans/Hillbillies X 15 IC (started as IW before quick correction from Kay)
Stubings/Monkey Humpers X 15 IC
The Thang
The pax then moseyed from the concession stand to the shelter (have to get our BRR training runs in somewhere) for the start of the Thang after a standing 10 count:
Texas 4 Step (because everything is bigger in Texas)
Nolan Ryan X 10 IC
Dallas Dips X 20 IC; 10 each leg (JR favorite)
Austin Ass Kickers X 10 IC; 5 each side
San Antonio Shuffle X 5 OYO (sorry Heisenberg)
We then moseyed back to the shovel flag for the next part (after another standing 10 count)
Taking part of the parking lot as an oval we started with Walking Toe Touches, Mosey, Lieutenant Dans, and finished with a Mosey.
After planking until the 6 was in and another standing 10 count we did an Indian run around the entire parking lot and then finished up the thang with a nice round of suicides (great reminder of football practices from days gone by).
6 MOM
Al Gore (Kay called time at 2 minutes)
Apollo Creed X 15 IC
Casey Kasems X 20 IC (Reverse Plank with leg touched by opposite arm); Botox asked for 40 (aka American Top 40) but was quickly shot down
Song Time: “Small Town” by John Cougar/John Cougar Mellencamp/John Mellencamp
YHC was inspired by TPS’s post here last week to include a song from TPS’s favorite singer for song time. YHC instructed the pax to do a plankjack every time they heard “small town”. There are a lot of “small town” in this song, so during one instrumental YHC had mercy on the pax and held in a squat position to relieve pressure on arms #truecrowdpleaser
Freddie Mercury X 10 IC
LBC X 15 IC
American Hammer X 15
Great work by the Pax today. Good to have Kay back from his bout with shin splints. Always good to have Double Check post at the AO closest to his house. Glad the weather held off for Misfire & Spurrier (ha ha). Wolverine is still relatively new but is showing a lot of heart and rolling right along. Heisenberg continues to show he is “the man”. Dr. Evil is just a machine, and it was great to have Botox post (we missed you last week at SCK).
COT: Kay took us out with prayer
