On a warm and humid June morning 16 pax joined YHC for a little running. It down something like this:
Warmerama
SSH X 20 in cadence
Cotton Pickers X 15 in cadence
Heisenberg’s/Windmills X 15 in cadence
Sun Gods Sobriety Style X 15 in cadence
Reverse Sun Gods Sobriety Style X 15 in cadence
The Thang
Started with a mosey around the ball fields of Lindley Park. On the first mosey the pax were instructed to run to the shovel flag and for all the Sugar Rays (yes I’m talking about you Footloose and Kay) to pick up the 6. On the second mosey all the Sugar Rays were instructed to give the non Sugar Rays a 20 second head start #shouldhavebeena45secondheadstart. After a standing 10 count we split off into 2 groups to do an Indian Run to the track at Lindley Elementary. Once there the pax were instructed to run 3 laps; on the 2 long portions mosey, on 1 short portion do high knees, and on the other short portion do but kickers. After another standing 10 count we moseyed back to the shovel flag for mary.
6MOM
Apollo Creed X 15 in cadence
Song time. Today’s selection was “Honey Bee” by Blake Shelton (Judge on The Voice/country music star/Miranda Lambert’s ex/dating Gwen Stefani) #realcrowdpleaser #notmanycountrymusicfansatthestampede #willtryclassicrockorrapnexttime
We started in a plank and for every “You’ll”, “I’ll”, or “Honey Bee” do a plankjack. 3 1/2 minutes was more than enough time to smoke the pax and Q. Strong mumble chatter with this selection!
American Hammer X 15 (because Amphibious says a workout isn’t finished until the Hammer is completed)
Great work by the pax today at the Stampede! We ran just over 3 miles and the warm/humid conditions did not slow down the pax.
COT: Sir Charles took us out with a very thoughtful prayer
