It was a Birthday Celebration for Quaker Crater this morning. No Sad clowns were invited just 19 jolly ol’ Nateville PAX. It has been a great year at the “Crater” with solid and consistent Quaker groupies. Here is how the celebration panned out.

Mosey to the library bridge – Pay Toll

  • At this point the PAX were asked to think of the favorite and least favorite exercise (will come into play during the Thang)

Head to the library

  • Lunge walk 25 yards
  • Bear Crawl 25 yards
  • Backwards Mosey to the top of hill


The library parking lot has three grass medians, Pax were broken up into three groups and instructed to perform two exercises at one end then rotate to other end and do the next set of exercises. All exercises were to be done with a 20 count – OYO. Rinse and repeat until Q calls time. Once time is called, group rotates to the next median. Rotation time between each median was four minutes.

Upon completion of the Thang, it was time to head back to the school but a light mosey back would be not be as exciting as sprinting. The PAX were instructed to run to the bottom of library hill and hold up at bridge then sprint from bridge to the stop sign. Run 70-80% from stop sign to top of hill (warm up area), plank until 6 is in then fast mosey to shovel flag.

  • Snookie announced that all exercises today were officially “Snookie Approved”
  • Miniature Chocolate bars handed out at the end “You can’t have a birthday party without chocolate”
  • Welcome FNG Mozart. You did awesome, hopefully you will be back out
  • Snookie wants to rename the Mountain Climber exercise to Scott Fisher. Snookie went to high school with Scott and many years ago Scott died on Mt Everst
  • Today was the ceremonial passing of the shovel flag to Phoenix. Thank you, Phoenix for stepping up and being the new coordinator for Quaker Crater. It has been and honor and pleasure getting the Quaker Crater AO up and running and I want to thank all of those that helped Q and those that have participated. AYE! Lynda
