A dozen men stood a post at the #fenceline including YHC. Little did the pax know, they would all become accomplished #MinuteMen by the end of their post…either they wouldn’t have come or half the town would have been there. Knowing the gall of #natville I think it would have been the latter. With 0 FNGs we raced through any formalities and got right to it.

  • Greensboro BASH at 5500 Old Brand Trace, April 16. Hushpuppy Q. M & 2.0 friendly. Also, bring a friend that has not experienced the F3 Brotherhood. Darryl’s Food Truck. 11a.m. – 5p.m.
  • MarchMadness 2F opportunities. If you are having lunch/dinner during games. Put it on Twitter for an opportunity to hang. We had 8 show up for the ACC Tourney. Mac’s was a great place.
  • Service Opportunity for BACKPACK BEGINNINGS in Greensboro. Rooster and Hushpuppy have  contact info for Parker White. The group is trying to raise $1500 for a commercial refrigerator and have already raised $500.  The group packs lunches/meals for kids that are bought lunch at school and don’t have meals on weekends. The kids take the backpacks home on weekends and return them on Monday. Great Cause! Look out for an email from Butt Fumble.

YHC took us out in the requested Ball of Man format. It was great to be with everybody and I look forward to growing this AO as the weather continues in our favor.

Highlights from 3rdF at Search Office on Pembroke led by Bird’s Nest

  • Reviewed Jesus’ ministry and the travels therein geographically
    • Jordan River with JTB > Galilee (ministry HQ) > Jerusalem > North/Samaria > Galilee
  • Chapter 4 starting in verse 43
  • Water to wine validated Jesus early for His disciples – He did it once more
  • 1 month later
    • Encountered a Royal Official on the road
      • Official had some authority of Capernam (assumption)
      • Jesus finally arrives – he had heard Jesus was heading north
      • Official’s son was deathly ill. Family had tried everything. Wife sent him on an “errand”
      • 20 mile hike, directive from wife.
      • vs 48 “unless you people see signs and wonders”…”You will never believe”
        • not a statement of condemnation, but more of a statement of fact at this point in Jesus’ ministry.
      • Addresses Jesus as “Sir”
        • He had legal authority over Jesus. Signifies man came to Jesus with sincere heart/desire
      • Jesus heals the official’s son from afar. Tells him to “Go”…”your son will live”
        • Faith and trust were exhibited by the official to return home. His son was on his deathbed and he had orders from his wife. He could not validate this via cell phone, email, anything.
  • Question: What promises from God have you received? How sincerely do you take these promises from God that He will deliver?
  • Romans 8:28 “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose”
  • Servants meet the Official with good news
    • Father realizes from servants that his sons’ fever left him at the 7th hour. 1:00 p.m. (exact time he met with Jesus)
    • We don’t hear of them again, but what witnesses the family must have become

Sins to foresake

  • Nothing necessarily. Jesus’ past faithfulness is worthy of current and future trust

  • Faith exercise on behalf of the Official/Father
  • Do we act is if God’s promises are promises or do we have backup plans

  • There’s nothing we can’t ask God for
    • Jesus knew the boy was sick. He considers it relational for us to go to Him and ask for what we need.
      • James 4:2 – “You do not have because you do not ask God”
      • Matthew 7:7-8 – “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.”
  • Spiritual leadership of the father on full display

Bird’s Nest prayed us out. We will continue next week starting Chapter 5. Consider rearranging your workout schedule for this special study/gift. Guaranteed to be blessed by it and a blessing to others.
